From research to business: the second edition of Officinae RAISE comes to a close

Design thinking, business development, and public speaking were at the heart of a training program that transformed innovative technologies into business projects

On Friday, May 22, the closing event of the second edition of Officinae RAISE – the P3 project coordinated by Professor Nicoletta Buratti as part of the RAISE Training Program – was held at the Talent Garden in Genoa.

The initiative involved students from the Master’s Degree Program in Management at the University of Genoa, who competed in a final pitch contest simulating the presentation of new startups closely linked to technologies developed within the RAISE ecosystem.

The contest represented the culmination of an intensive learning and hands-on training journey. In the preceding weeks, students participated in dedicated workshops where, guided step by step by experienced mentors, they explored and applied tools and methodologies related to design thinking, business model development, as well as storytelling and public speaking.

During the final day, the student teams took the stage to present their business projects before a jury composed of experts from the worlds of innovation and business. The proposals were evaluated both for the soundness of the business model and the effectiveness of the presentation.

The conclusion of this second edition of Officinae RAISE confirms the value of training activities in facilitating the transfer of skills, leveraging research outcomes, and fostering the emergence of new entrepreneurship in the region.

Congratulations to all the students who participated with enthusiasm and put themselves out there, and a special thank you to the mentors, judges, and organizers who contributed to the success of this initiative.
