AI in business operations at the core of the P2 project seminar, part of the Spoke 5 Training Program

On June 10, at the Talent Garden in Genoa, the fourth seminar dedicated to AI-based applications in business operations took place, organized as part of the P2 | BASIC AI & ROBOTICS APPLICATIONS4SMEs project.
After an introduction by Francesco Vitellaro (UniGe, Spoke 5), the seminar featured presentations by:
– Emanuele Baglini: CEO and co-founder of Ermit;
– Alessandro Ivaldi: tech entrepreneur and founder of Enginius.
The two speakers showcased various innovative solutions where AI serves as a valuable tool in designing and developing services and solutions tailored to emerging needs.
One example is the Pillo project, a robot designed to meet the needs of vulnerable individuals and their caregivers. The robot not only reminds the patient when and how to take their medication, but also alerts both the patient and caregivers if the medication is not taken, through a dedicated alert system.
Other projects were presented that combine AI, hardware, and User Experience (UX) design to address the real needs of potential users. The presentations emphasized that innovation must meet user needs while also adhering to requirements such as scalability, security, and privacy.
Several areas of AI application for new services were explored, including: health and sports; maintenance and manufacturing; Management of complex document and information workflows.
The second speaker’s presentation focused on AI applications for document analysis and intelligent warehouse management, through the optimization of information flows and multichannel communication. This included the integration of different data sources and support for order management in B2B markets.
Finally, applications for e-commerce were presented, such as personal shoppers and online shopping assistants (helping users choose the best products, suggesting gifts, etc.).
The presentations sparked great interest among attendees, who were able to engage with the speakers through questions and discussions, also thanks to a networking opportunity during the closing aperitif.
The series of in-person seminars for the P2 project continues, with the next event scheduled for June 26 at Talent Garden.
