Artificial Intelligence, robotics and the future of work

On Tuesday, June 3, 2025, starting at 10:00 AM, the Aula Magna at Via Balbi 2 of the University of Genoa will host a public event dedicated to one of the most pressing topics of our time: the impact of artificial intelligence and robotics on the future of work.
The event will also serve as the official presentation of the RAISE Digital Citizenship Courses, a training initiative promoted under the P4 | Basic AI & Robotics Skills at University Level project, coordinated by RAISE Spoke 5 within the RAISE Training Program.
The aim of the event will be to bring students, faculty, and citizens closer to the transformations reshaping the world of work and society at large, with a particular focus on the basic digital skills now essential for active and informed participation in the ongoing technological transition.
The event will open with institutional greetings from Nicoletta Buratti, Head of the Spoke 5 Training Program (UniGe), Marco Faimali, leader of Spoke 3 and Communications Coordinator for RAISE (CNR), and Andrea Pagnin, Coordinator of Spoke 5 (IIT). This will be followed by an introduction to the digital citizenship training project by Fabrizio Bracco, Rector’s Delegate for Teaching Innovation and Faculty Development, who will outline the goals and structure of the courses.
The initiative is designed for university students and the general public, providing practical tools to enhance autonomy and awareness in the use of digital technologies.
A highlight of the event will be the keynote by Luca Pietrantoni, Professor of Work and Organizational Psychology at the University of Bologna and Coordinator of the “Human Factors, Risk and Safety” research group. His talk will explore how AI is transforming workplaces, enabling hybrid teams and new forms of human-machine collaboration.
Following this, Elisabetta Giacco (Project Manager) and Stefania Isolabella (Instructional Designer) will present in detail the structure, content, and objectives of the RAISE Digital Citizenship Courses, designed to meet the evolving needs of a digitally savvy society.
The morning will continue with a roundtable discussion titled “Educating for Digital Citizenship: A Successful Challenge”, moderated by Luca Gandullia, Rector’s Delegate for Lifelong Learning (UniGe).
Participants will include Enrico Botte (Confindustria Genova), Mattia Rossi (Legacoop Liguria) and RAISE course instructors Fabrizio Bracco and Simona Tirasso, who will offer perspectives from both academia and industry on the importance of fostering accessible and up-to-date digital competencies.
The event will conclude at 12:30 PM with an open debate session.
Admission is free, but registration is required through the online form available at this link.
