Un METAverso per il sostegno all’accessibilità sociale e all’inclusione nei sassi di Matera

Abstract

This project aims to remove the architectural and social barriers restricting access to Matera’s rock churches—a priceless cultural and historical heritage—by making them accessible through Virtual Reality.
The objective is to create a 3D reconstruction of these often hard-to-reach or inaccessible rock churches using technologies such as laser scanning, photogrammetry, and virtual restoration, providing an immersive and photorealistic experience.
Artificial Intelligence will be employed to develop a virtual guide that enriches the visitor experience through advanced communication interfaces and real-time responses to specific questions.
