Abstract
In the era of digitalization and Industry 4.0, efficient and safe management of containers in container terminals has become a priority. The SAPIENT project proposes to improve container terminal operations (both seaward and landward sides) by integrating IoT solutions with optimization and simulation techniques. By developing a suite of software and hardware modules, the project seek to bost container terminal productivity while reducing workplace accidents.
