AI and Robotics for Smart and Sustainable Ports

On 30 January, at 5:30 p.m., Talent Garden Genoa, at the Giardini Baltimora, will host AI and Robotics for Smart and Sustainable Ports, an event of P7 – Advanced AI & Robotics Applications4SMEs, within the RAISE Training Program, coordinated by Spoke 5.

The initiative will present Module 3 of the project and will offer companies a concrete opportunity to connect advanced research with industrial applications.

The event will address employees of companies operating in port logistics, shipping, port services, and naval engineering who seek to integrate artificial intelligence and robotics solutions into their operational processes. The program will outline a path of knowledge sharing and discussion designed to support companies in moving toward more efficient, competitive, and sustainable port models.

During the meeting, participants will discover how to turn research results into innovation opportunities, with particular attention to the real needs of the port and logistics sectors.

The event will focus on technologies developed within RAISE and on their potential for market transfer, providing useful tools to anticipate change and strengthen innovation capacity.

A key moment of the initiative will feature the presentation of RAISE projects from Spoke 4, “Smart and Sustainable Ports”. CNR, IIT, and the University of Genoa will showcase solutions that have already reached maturity or remain under development, designed for concrete applications in port-related business.

Speakers will include Francesca Garaventa (CNR), Ferdinando Cannella (IIT), and Davide Giglio (University of Genoa, Spoke 4 Coordinator), who will share visions, results, and development perspectives.

Alongside research, the event will highlight concrete success stories. IROI and Exis, former spin-offs of the University of Genoa, will describe their growth paths and their contributions to the RAISE project, illustrating how innovation can originate in research laboratories and quickly reach the market. Davide Anghinolfi (IROI) and Francesco Rebora (Exis) will speak, offering first-hand, business-oriented insights.

The discussion will continue with a round table dedicated to the opportunities and challenges of the RAISE program for Smart and Sustainable Ports. Researchers and entrepreneurs will engage with the audience, encouraging questions, collaboration ideas, and possible technological development pathways for the sector.

The event will conclude with an aperitif and networking session, designed to foster informal connections among companies, researchers, and key players in the Ligurian port innovation ecosystem.

Participation is free of charge, subject to registration by January 29, 2026, by filling out the form available at this link.
