Two performances between art and science
An event blending artistic languages and scientific research, bringing RAISE project studies to the forefront, translating collected data into sound, visuals, and theater.
In the first performance, The Ocean Without Us, the Stellare collective, together with artist Giuseppe La Spada, created a sensory and poetic soundscape, translating data on plastic pollution in the marine environment into sensory material. Acoustic instruments, analog synths, and fluid visuals evoke an ocean changing with accumulating polymers, spanning from 2000 to 2050, eventually saturating the stage.
The explosive audiovisual display is followed by suspended silence, opening an imagined ocean without human impact.
In the second performance, Another Beat, the theater company La Pozzanghera translates research on digital twins and future healthcare into theatrical and emotional material.
Bodies and words enact a dramaturgical exploration of the possibilities and fears inherent in digitally replicating the human body: “Data entered, recorded, recalled, processed – generating another heartbeat, identical to its double, except for one element: fear… the fear of stopping.”
