Mobility for all: Spoke 1 at Palazzo Tursi

On 17 September 2025, in Genoa, at the Salone di Rappresentanza of Palazzo Tursi, within the framework of the European Mobility Week 2025, Fabrizio Malfanti (IMATI – CNR, technologist) will present the activities of Spoke 1 of the RAISE project.
The initiative, entitled “From Europe to Genoa”, will be an opportunity for dialogue among planners, designers, and public authorities, aimed at building a collaborative network dedicated to inclusive mobility and collective well-being.
Spoke 1’s contribution will focus on tools and solutions designed to promote accessible, safe, and sustainable mobility, with particular attention to people’s needs and the reduction of physical and social barriers. The presentation will provide an overview of ongoing research activities and future perspectives, with the goal of contributing to the dissemination of innovative practices that can enhance quality of life in urban contexts.
The European Mobility Week, now in its 25th edition, aims to encourage virtuous behaviors and solutions for the promotion of a new culture of mobility: sustainable, safe, inclusive, and conscious. As every year, major European cities organize events under the common theme “Mobility for all”.
In Genoa, the event is organized by the Municipality and includes dozens of activities spread across the territory, involving schools, associations, operators, and citizens. Among the initiatives are: walking routes to school with the Pedibus, debates on road safety and urban cycling, bicycle repair and road safety workshops, temporary transformation of public spaces into places for social interaction, inclusive walks, outdoor sports days, and community events.
Through these initiatives, the city will have the opportunity to highlight the environmental, social, and health benefits of a more active and accessible urban mobility, in line with the objectives of the European Mobility Week.
